UI/UX design in Belfast

What a Belfast customer needs from a product page is narrower than most designs assume, and it usually comes down to one thing: food and drink producers selling across the island and into Britain. Everything else on the screen is competing with that.

A drawing of a design system for a Belfast store being measured: type sizes, colour tokens, component states and a contrast reading above the WCAG 2.2 AA threshold.

The subjectui-ux-design × belfast

Food and drink producers selling across the island and into Britain

The way to answer it is with detail rather than tone.

A specific number, a named timescale or an honest limitation is read and believed; a paragraph of reassurance is skimmed and discounted, because every competitor has one of those too. In Belfast that pattern shows up most in film and television production, and around Belfast city centre in particular. The businesses there sell in a way that makes this requirement structural rather than a preference somebody could be talked out of. The accessible version and the clear version are the same version. Anything that helps somebody using a screen reader or a keyboard also helps the customer reading in a hurry on a train, which is a much larger group than either. The whole interface hangs off that one point. food and drink producers selling across the island and into Britain is what a Belfast visitor came to establish, and a page that buries it under everything else has answered several questions nobody was asking while leaving the only one that mattered completely open.

We have no office in Belfast. Our studio is in Rajkot, India, and every project here is delivered remotely — if a supplier who can attend your premises matters to you, that is a fair requirement and we do not meet it.

What a UI/UX design project includes

Three things, and they are the same wherever you are. What changes is the subject above.

  • UX audit against a published checklist

  • Redesign of the highest-revenue templates

  • Design system and tokens, where they earn their cost

The other three, and what each one covers

Each answers a different question for Belfast businesses. None of them repeats this page.

  • AI Automation

    Technology brands with security-sensitive customers

  • Shopify Development

Selling to Great Britain, the Republic of Ireland and the EU from one location, in two currencies

  • WooCommerce Development

Security-conscious technology clients who expect specific answers on data handling

UI/UX design questions from Belfast

Three questions about the subject above. How we work, what it costs and who owns the code are answered on the service page.

How do you know a change is an improvement?

By measuring it where the volume supports measurement, and by reasoning honestly where it does not. Small stores rarely have the traffic for a reliable test, and pretending otherwise produces confident conclusions from noise. In that case the argument has to stand on its own merits. None of that changes because you happen to be in Belfast.

Is accessibility included?

Yes, and not as a separate stage. Visible focus, real labels, adequate contrast and a keyboard route through the whole flow are part of the design rather than an audit afterwards. Retrofitting them costs more and produces a worse result than deciding them while the page is being drawn. The same goes for Belfast.

Will this work for our existing Belfast customers?

That is the right question, and it is why we look at what current customers do before changing anything. A redesign that improves things for new visitors and disrupts the people already buying is a net loss, and it is a common outcome when the existing behaviour was never examined. None of that changes because you happen to be in Belfast.
